From dream pop to garage rock, BJ’s welcomes a diverse group of bands to their Wednesday night concert series.

Bands Canetis, Laveda and Tooth will be taking the BJ’s stage on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Each band differs in style and sound, but they all have the same intention for their shows — to deliver a performance that connects with their audience.

Brendan Hoare, lead singer of Canetis said, “We want the audience to not only have a good time while seeing us in the moment, but remember us and ultimately become a fan and follow or see us again.”

Canetis was formed a year ago and is comprised of Hoare and John Greenan, Matt Broconier and Matt Sacha.

Hoare and Greenan are Fredonia alumni and graduated in 2016 and 2014.

Canetis has plans to release their debut EP, “Putting Time Together” on Nov. 18, which will be available on all streaming platforms.

Their EP and music style as a whole is inspired by alternative artists such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, Death Cab for Cutie and Young the Giant, according to Hoare.

Laveda is a dream pop and shoegaze duo based out of Albany.

The duo, Jake Brooks and Ali Genevich, began making demos in their bedrooms after singing in a high school band together.

A few years later, Laveda was formed.

Laveda’s new single, “If Only (You Said No),” is set to release Nov. 13, which happens to be the day of their BJ’s performance.

Genevich describes Laveda’s shows as “more chilled out during their duo sets,” which is what will be seen from Laveda on Wednesday.

When asked what fans can expect from Laveda in the future, Genevich said, “Our debut record is scheduled to release in April 2020, and we’ll be back in the Western New York area with our full band in mid-January.”

Tooth is a local garage rock band comprised of senior music industry major, Max Gucinski, senior music education: percussion major, Miles Pierce and 2019 Fredonia alumnus, Ben Hellert.

The trio has been playing together for a year after meeting and forming Tooth in Fredonia.

This is Tooth’s second time taking the BJ’s stage and Gucinski said how their live sound has evolved since their BJ’s debut last year.

Their newest single, “Don’t Cut Me Down” is available now on all music platforms.

“‘Listening to Tooth’ will be out in the next few months,” said Gucinski on the release of their debut album. “We are in the mixing and mastering stages of the album.”
