Web exclusive: Loss of a Fredonia senior

Fredonia senior Howard P. Jones died on April 8, according to President Virginia Horvath. Jones, a sport management major from Elmira, New York, was 26.

Howard is remembered by faculty and staff as an outstanding student and fine young man who always had a smile and hug for everyone,” Horvath wrote in her email to the campus. “I offer sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to the Fredonia faculty, staff, and students who are grieving.”

Anyone wishing to pay respects may attend the visitation at Olthof Funeral Home in Elmira/Southport tomorrow, April 14, between 5 and 8 p.m. Two vans will be departing from Dods Hall for the visitation at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 15, at 11 a.m.
