On Sept. 21, Fredonia held its second Food Truck Thursday in the parking lot of Jewett Hall just in time for lunch.
One truck that returned to Fredonia was The Great Foodini, which serves a delicious selection of Po Boys, quesadillas and wraps.
Another of the attending trucks, The Gourm-Asian Bistro, serves an Asian fusion style of food. This truck’s options included fresh roasted broccoli salad, five-spiced sesame chicken and spicy peanut butter noodles, just to name a few.
Juan Chavez is another of the trucks to join alongside The Great Foodini and Gourm-Asian Bistro. Juan Chavez is an authentic mexican food truck that serves meals with 100 percent fresh ingredients and family recipies.
Political science major Joseph Romero said that the food trucks make him feel less homesick.
“It kind of reminds me of being back home in New York City. These things are everywhere and they’re always the best,” he said.
The Maple “Bae”con is one of the most popular cheesecake items from Cheesecake Guy, a food truck that exclusively sells cheesecake. The Cheesecake Guy describes this menu item as “a creamy maple cheesecake swirled with maple syrup topped with candied thick-cut smoked bacon.” Cheesecake Guy also offers an item called “Not Your Mother’s PB&J” where you can opt to add crushed salted potato chips on top.
One food truck item that students might already recognize is the crunch roll from the Original Crunch Roll Factory. Crunch Roll Factory serves items such as their most popular deep fried Buffalo logs that can be served with a side of bleu cheese or ranch.
Junior illustration major Manuel Barnett believes that the wider selection of food items for lunch time is a nice treat and that the options routinely available on campus can get old.
“To eat anywhere cool around here is an almost hour drive to Buffalo and I don’t have that kind of gas money let alone food money on top of that. So it’s cool that they’re just right here.”
