August may be over, but that’s not stopping the campus from getting you out of your dorm room and into the sun.

Your next opportunity is this Friday at 6 p.m.

The Music Industry Club is hosting an event, “Amp it Up” at the Amphitheater.

Expect to see three local Fredonia bands Vintage Pretty, Superficial. and The Motherfunk Experience.

Sophia Auteri is a Music Industry major who looks forward to these events each year.

“I think it’s a great way to start the semester…and what better way to do it than to throw a concert with fellow Fredonia musicians,” she said.

“It brings the community together, and it’s really nice to watch,” said Auteri.

Amanda Jo Mason is the events coordinator of the Music Industry Club.

She says the goal is to introduce new and old students to some of the things the club does throughout the year.

“It’s a casual concert with laid back music…it’s directed for all age groups, as just a fun night to hang out at sunset with some friends while listening to some great local bands,” she said.

“Bring a blanket, and some friends, and ask us any questions you may have at activities night,” said Mason.

No tickets are needed for this event.
