BJ’s Fredonia and Last Call Entertainment will be holding a show starring three bands: Fernway, Ever Elsewhere and Young Animals.
The show will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Each band in the lineup has a different musical vision, with genres varying from pop punk to twinkly emo.
Young Animals, a band from St. Louis, MO, will be bringing that newish genre to Fredonia. Another new thing that the band will be presenting is their latest song, “Dibs,” written by the band’s vocalist, Olivia Schulte.
“It has a ton of energy, and we are all collectively proud of it. Super fun to play, too,” she said. “I wrote it about my personal battles with my mental health in hopes that others can connect to it, give them hope and realize they are not alone.”
Fernway, from Buffalo, revealed that they will also be playing their newest single, titled “Half-Life.”
Band member Brett Robertson said that all of their songs have significant meanings.
“Any moment in time that allows us to perform means the absolute world to us all,” he said.
In addition to sharing new music, all three bands hope to connect to the crowd, play some well-known material and expose a unique hybrid of sounds and vibes.
Eleanor Grace, drummer and vocalist for Canadian band Ever Elsewhere said, “Of our released material, our single ‘Momentary’ is always a high point. It’s the song people most often know us by, and one we all really love playing.”
“Momentary” currently has over 95,000 streams on Spotify.
She added that Ever Elsewhere’s guitarist, Mike Bielawski, has played at BJ’s in the past and that the rest of the band is looking forward to experiencing it for themselves.
Schulte of Young Animals said that they are excited to be playing in Fredonia as well.
“We heard it was a cool college town; our friends in Wait and Shackle suggested it to us. Last Call Entertainment hooked us up with a show at BJ. We were stoked when they got back to us,” she said.
If you like what you hear, each band’s music can be found on all major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
Tickets to the show are to be purchased at the door — $1 for those 21+ and $5 for 18+.
