Fredonia Spectrum’s David Dobrik appearance to be cancelled

Following the various health and safety precautions put in place by New York State, SUNY Fredonia has decided to cancel all shows in Rockefeller Arts Center for the remainder of the semester.

This includes the David Dobrik show.

“All remaining ticketed performances for the balance of the semester at Rockefeller Arts Center have been cancelled,” says Fredonia’s website on its coronavirus information page.

“This includes “Sweet Charity,” The Fredonia Dance Ensemble, the Commencement-Eve Concert (“Salute to the Big Apple”) and the Masterworks Chorus with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra.”

It also says that those who have already purchased tickets will be contacted starting today, March 16, and given options for reimbursements, house credit (putting that money toward tickets to future shows) or the possibility of donating.

Spectrum Fredonia has already sent out emails to ticket holders regarding refunds.

“With our campus cancelling all large scale events for the remainder of the semester, Spectrum Entertainment Board will be cancelling the David Dobrik show that was scheduled for March 27, 2020 in King Concert Hall,” it reads.

It then explains how to go about accomplishing refunds, which can be done by stopping by the Fredonia Ticket Office or calling them at (716) 673-3501 during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

They emphasize that you must have your ticket in hand to reference the order number on the top left corner.

Other important details from the email are that “refunds can be made to house credit, and can be used for any event or travel related expense that can be purchased at the Ticket Office. Returns can also be credited to credit cards and Fred cards over the phone, however any cash refunds can only be accomplished by requesting a check and mailing it to a personal address.”

Screenshots of this email can be found on Spectrum’s social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

In their Instagram caption, Spectrum says they are “deeply disappointed by the cancellation of the show, and [we] know that many [of you] are, too. However, health and safety are most important right now.”

They ended the post by thanking anyone who has supported the show.

Fredonia’s website also says that in addition to ticketed events, all remaining non-ticketed events through May 15 have also been cancelled.
