SUNY Fredonia offers many different services and resources when it comes to helping their students succeed.
The Tutoring Center is one of the most popular and effective organizations on campus, designed to support students along their academic journey.
If you are struggling with understanding a topic in class, need help writing an essay, or doing your math homework, the Tutoring Center is the place to be if you have any academic concerns.
The Tutoring Center is located on the fourth floor of the Carnahan-Jackson Center in Reed Library.
The Tutoring Center group is filled with trained students who are proficient in their line of study.
Tutors receive training at the beginning of each academic year to ensure that the general student body’s educational needs will be met.
The subjects range from accounting, chemistry, biology, music, communications, economics, math, writing, statistics and more.
Music tutors are not in the Carnahan-Jackson Center, but they can be found in room 2020 of Mason Hall.
Tutors can help with studying for tests or quizzes, understanding class concepts, questions on homework assignments and reviewing essays.
The Tutoring Center will never do the work for you, but they’ll help you understand the material being taught in the course you are seeking help with.
To access the tutors, all you need to do is stop by and ask for assistance in whatever subject you may need. You don’t need to make an appointment, just make sure to check the tutoring website at
https://www.fredonia.edu/academics/tutoring-services for the updated hours of the Tutoring Center before your next visit.
Each person working at the center has different hours based on their student schedule. So, plan ahead to ensure a tutor for your desired subject will be there.
Once you are there, sign in to the designated Tutoring Center computer with your eServices account info and ask for assistance in the field you need.
From there, that particular tutor or group of tutors will sit down with you and go through any questions, comments or concerns you may have on your assignment.
For further inquiries, contact Adam Hino (adam.hino@fredonia.edu).
No matter what major you are, the Tutoring Center supports academic achievement through guidance, teamwork and curiosity.
This school year, take advantage of the Tutoring Center and get the grades your parents have been wishing for.
