As a new semester begins, returning students and those new to the Fredonia campus alike are bound to have plenty of questions: Why don’t I have a meal plan? Am I a junior or a senior? And where in the world do I pay all these parking tickets?
Being familiar with who is in charge of what on campus is the first step to solving students’ problems, and answers to all those questions and more can be obtained from many of the following individuals:
Charles Cornell
Director of the Fredonia Technology Incubator
If students are interested in starting a business or internship opportunities, the technology incubator can provide help. The Technology Incubator is a program that fosters the growth of local business. Its office is located in Dunkirk.
Joyce Harvard Smith
Director of Volunteer & Community Services
Students interested in volunteer opportunities to help better the local community should go to visit the office in Williams Center S277.
Patty Feraldi
Director of the Office of Alumni Affairs
Several duties of the office include planning homecoming and reunion gatherings. This office, located right beside the Central Avenue entrance, is in charge of scholarships that the alumni provide to students.
Michael Barone
Director of Marketing and Communications
This department, found in the Foundation House off Central Avenue, is the official spokesperson for the University and is to be contacted for statements on issues involving the University. It’s also in charge of the marketing tactics of the University. Also, this is the office for students to file Freedom of Information Requests for the University’s public documents.

Director of the Faculty Student Association
Students should go to the Faculty Student Association, found on the first floor of Gregory Hall, when they have problems with their meal plans, debit accounts or FREDcards.
Elizabeth Praetorius
Vice President of Finance and Administration
This department is in charge of all the University’s financial issues and crafting the University’s budget, and can be found on the fifth floor of Maytum Hall.
Lynn Bowers
Director of Student Accounts
This office is in charge of the collection of the University’s money. Students who need to figure out payment plans or pay their fees should go to this office on the third floor of Maytum Hall.

Academic Affairs
This is the department in charge of the school’s academic issues, curriculum and the four academic schools. It can be found on the eighth floor of Maytum Hall.

Dean of the School of Education
The College of Education is in charge of all of the school of education’s curriculum, and if students have a problem with the curriculum or other academic matter this is the office to go to the dean’s office on the seventh floor of Maytum Hall.

Interim Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences
This is the department which addresses curriculum problems for students that are part of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This school consists of the Interdisciplinary Studies, Biology department, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer and Information Sciences, Communication, Geosciences, History, Political and International Affairs, Physics, Philosophy, Science Education, Sociocultural and Justice Systems and World Languages & Cultures. It can be found on the eighth floor of Maytum Hall.

Dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts
Students of the School of Visual and Performing Arts that have issues with the curriculum or other academic issues should go to the eighth floor of Maytum Hall. This school includes School of Music, the Theatre and Dance Department, and the Visual Arts and New Media Department.

Students that are part of the School of Business that have issues with their curriculum or other academic issues should go here.

This department, located in LoGrasso Hall, is in charge of the international students on campus and also the application process of international students.

The University Senate is the highest governing body on campus and is where students with concerns and ideas for how to better the university should go.

Prospective students that are applying or transferring should consult this office, found in the Fenner House just beside campus on Central Avenue.

Director of Campus Life
This is the office where students should go if they are planning events on campus, and where they should go to reserve rooms for their clubs. The office, found on the first floor of the Williams Center, is also in charge of planning orientation, and is where student groups should go if they want to participate.

Students that need help with their resumes, interviews and internship opportunities should go to this office on the second floor of Gregory Hall.

Students who have questions or concerns regarding financial aid should stop by the offices on the 2nd floor of Maytum Hall.

Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs
Located on the first floor of Thompson Hall, CMA is focused on planning presentations on campus to help educate students on diversity ,and awareness of the cultural issues in our country and on campus.

This office, found on the first floor of Gregory Hall, is where students that have concerns over their dorm arrangements should go.

Chief of University Police Department
University Police is the department that is in charge of enforcing the law on campus and can be found on the second floor of Gregory Hall.
Student Association
It is in charge of all of the various student run groups on campus. Some duties include approving money for groups and enforcing the rules. As well as being the students representatives to administration.
