Classes and student activities cancelled Wednesday and Thursday

All classes will be cancelled at SUNY Fredonia on Wednesday and Thursday.

Dining service facilities will operate under some modified hours. Starbucks and the Convenience Store will close one hour earlier and Centre Pointe will close two hours earlier.

Activities Night, which was scheduled for Wednesday night in the Steele Hall Field House, will be rescheduled. A date is to be determined.

Reed Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday.

Destination to a Dream students will not have classes at Jamestown Community College North Campus.

The Park and Ride will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday while the Campus Community bus and the Escort bus will cancel operations for those days.

The Health Center, including the Counseling Center will operate as regularly scheduled, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

While the Williams Center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., all activities in the building are cancelled.

Student activities across campus are cancelled as well, including the Student Association General Assembly meeting on Thursday.

Student Association President Seth Meyer said all groups and individuals scheduled to appear before the General Assembly this Thursday will be rescheduled to next Thursday, Feb. 7.

Below is a timeline of forecasted weather over the Wednesday and Thursday according to the National Weather Service:

Wednesday – Widespread blowing snow, high near 4 degrees with wind child near -25. Winds 20-29 mph with gusts over 40 mph. Snow accumulation, 3-5 inches.

Wednesday night – Snow to heavy snow throughout the night along with continued blowing snow. Lows near -4 with wind chill temperatures near -25. Heavy winds continue, 20-29 mph, gusting to 40 mph. Additional accumulations of 3 to 5 inches.

Thursday – Snow showers likely in the afternoon, highs near 6 degrees. High winds continue.

Thursday night – Snow and blowing snow throughout the night, lows around 0.

Students and other campus community members should stay informed with communications from the Fredonia Marketing and Communications office as well as other campus departments.
