[EMAIL REPOST] Essential/Non-Essential Personnel

March 16, 2020

Dear Faculty and Staff:

This evening the Governor issued a new directive about non-essential state employees working from home.  Our list of essential personnel is being reviewed and, where necessary, will be updated to reflect current campus needs.  Tomorrow this revised list, along with guidance on telecommuting and the impact on accruals, if any, will be shared with you.  Unless we hear otherwise, the expectation will be for non-essential personnel to work from home beginning as early as Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

We are fortunate that Chautauqua County does not have a single confirmed case of COVID-19, so I would ask that we proceed in an orderly and calm manner as the Governor’s directive is implemented.  As always, thank you for the professionalism that you have shown during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Dennis L. Hefner, Ph.D.

Interim President
