[EMAIL REPOST] Update on VANM Studio Facilities

MEMO: March 17, 2020

Hello to all VANM students.

I am writing to provide an update on VANM studio facilities.

1) We know that Covid-19 is highly contagious, and that some people may be without symptoms but could still spread the virus.

2) This situation is serious, and we are all being asked to take measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.  These measures include frequent handwashing, regular cleaning of surfaces that might have active virus, social distancing (staying at least than 6 feet away from each other), working from home, and avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people.  All of these directives mean that on-campus studio work should not occur because it creates an environment where Coronavirus could spread.

3) Because VANM places the highest priority on the health and safety of our students, staff, and community, the VANM faculty think it is best to close our studio facilities.  Therefore, the RAC and Igoe studios will be closed starting Monday, March 23, 2020.

4) If you are on campus and need to pick up supplies, please do that ASAP.  Please contact before coming to RAC if you need to pick up work or materials.

5) The Fredonia campus is currently developing a work from home schedule, so we may not be present on campus every day; however, you may contact the VANM secretary and faculty instructors using email or call 716-673-3537 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

6) The faculty instructing your online classes are working on course materials, and they will be in touch with you by March 23rd with more information.

7) Please check your Fredonia email regularly as this will be essential to stay informed.

Remember, we can all find creative solutions.  We are “VANM strong!”
