As cases of the novel coronavirus continue to rise rapidly throughout New York, the number of cases within Chautauqua County now totals to seven.

The most recent confirmed cases within the county include a 70-year-old woman with no history of recent travel, along with a woman in her 30s who had recently traveled to Erie County.

Other confirmed cases within the county include a man in his 60s who had recently traveled to New York City and a woman in her 30s with no recent travel history.

County officials announced earlier this week three additional cases.

A Dunkirk resident and a Silver Creek resident, both of whom had recently traveled to Buffalo, and an Ashville resident recently returning from travels to New York City.

Outside of those infected, many other county residents are being affected by the virus as well. Currently, there are 21 individuals in mandatory quarantine and 38 individuals in precautionary quarantine. Of these 59 residents, they have either confirmed positive for COVID-19, have had household contact with someone who has confirmed positive, have traveled to a CDC level three country or have had proximal contact with someone who has confirmed positive. Along with these individuals, there are 25 individuals in mandatory isolation. These individuals are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and are waiting for test results.
