Here’s a list of my top-five favorite things to do right now in no particular order:

  1. Running Outside. The temperature during fall is the perfect balance of being neither too warm nor too cold, creating the optimum conditions for running outside. I love wearing leggings and long-sleeved T-shirts, while not needing to break out my hat and gloves, yet. I find running through the local neighborhoods after the leaves have changed colors to be a breathtaking experience.
  2. Drinking Hot Chocolate. I’m the type of person who drinks hot chocolate during the summer, much to my mom’s disgust. However, even I have to admit that hot chocolate tastes better during the fall. I enjoy treating myself to a dark hot chocolate from Tim Horton’s after I’ve done well on an assignment.
  3. Reading Books. As the days become shorter and shorter, all I want to do is sit in my recliner with a blanket, hot chocolate and good book. I’ve been an avid reader since I was a child, but I read more during the fall and winter. I like being able to turn a light on in the darkness and immerse myself in another universe for a couple of hours.
  4. Listening to Music. I find that music holds different meanings, depending on the time of year. I love discovering new music and re-discovering old music during the fall when the weather is constantly changing. Right now, I’m discovering Kane Brown’s latest releases from his upcoming album “Experiment” and re-discovering Taylor Swift’s biggest masterpiece, which is her album “Red” in its entirety.
  5. Watching Soccer. I streamed my first professional women’s soccer game during the summer, and I’ve been obsessed with watching the sport since then. I’m a fan of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States women’s national soccer team (USWNT). Most recently, I watched the USWNT win the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship and qualify for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The USWNT has two friendly matches coming up in November against Portugal and Scotland that I’m excited to watch.
