The last four years at Fredonia were nothing like I had imagined them to be.
Well, to be honest, I never even thought I would attend college.
I had never heard of SUNY Fredonia prior to my mom scheduling a tour (shout out, Mom!). I remember my first tour like it was just yesterday. I walked around the entire campus, not saying a single word. As my mom and I were walking back to the car afterwards, she said, “Well? Any thoughts? What did you think?” and I responded, “I love everything about this place.”
Coming to Fredonia was the best decision I ever made.
For me, college isn’t just about getting a degree. It’s about finding yourself, growing as a person, trying new things, and taking every opportunity that comes your way.
And during my time here, I did just that. I joined multiple clubs, obtained multiple internships, picked up two minors on top of my major and did 67 paid photo jobs on campus.
At times, I felt overwhelmed by the number of classes I was taking and the workload I had, but in the end, it was worth it.
I will be graduating this May with a BFA in Photography and minors in Arts Administration and Museum Studies.
