Coming off a large weekend of Fredonia sports, there were relatively less teams in action as falls sports continue to wrap up their seasons.

One of the teams that saw their final action of the fall season was the women’s cross country team. They competed in the SUNYAC Championships where they placed ninth in a score of 233, which was the same as Plattsburgh’s score. The competition was held at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome by SUNY New Paltz.

As for their counterparts, the men’s cross country team placed sixth and contributed two points to the Battle by the Lake by finishing ahead of Buffalo State in the standings. The Blue Devils have one more competition to go as they travel to St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. on
Nov. 16.

As for the women’s volleyball team, they finished their season on a 2-2 road trip to the RIT Tournament. On Friday, they had a 0-3 loss to New York University and a 3-1 win facing Nazareth. As for the final day of competition, the Blue Devils lost to the University of Rochester before closing the season on a high note with a 3-0 win over Montclair State.

The men’s swimming and diving team had their second meet of the season in a 130-121 win over Buffalo State. The meet featured Alfred State as well. The next meet that the Blue Devils have is Nov. 9 in Alfred against Alfred University and the University
of Rochester.

Finally, the men’s hockey team had a two-game set against Morrisville, losing both in a score of 3-4. The Friday night game went into overtime before the winner was decided, and the Saturday game went down to the wire. The Blue Devils only have one game on the slate this weekend, a road tilt against Chatham on Saturday night.
