The return to Fredonia sports

As we move on through this pandemic, it’s very easy to forget about the luxuries and normalities we once had.

With that being said, we will, for once, be getting something back instead of taken away.

Fredonia sports will finally return to practice as early as this week.

For most, this may not mean anything yet, but with the return to practice comes the potential to actually see our teams in action, at games soon.

You may be wondering how the sports teams will be complying with COVID-19 guidelines, but the athletic department is going to great lengths to make sure everyone is staying safe and healthy.

Each student athlete and coach will have their temperature taken before every practice and masks will be required for the duration of each session.

However, they will not require the swimmers and divers to wear masks.

Each student athlete will be designated an area that they can practice in, and these areas will be no less than 6 feet apart from each other in order to ensure safety.

Additionally, all equipment used will be cleaned thoroughly afterwards.

Theoretically, with all of these safety measures in place, Fredonia sports will be practicing and competing for the rest of the school year.

Having sports teams back to practicing will hopefully bring back a sense of normalcy that everyone is surely missing.

This also brings the hope that things may be getting closer to returning to normal.
