(Disclaimer: you don’t have to have a period/menstrual cycle to be a girl. Whether you identify as a woman all the time or some of the time, this article is for you. Perhaps you’re just interested in reading it. Whatever floats your boat.)
Omg, don’t you hate when your period is just like so bad and cramps and bloating, blah blah blah … Okay, now that the cis men have stopped reading, let’s get into the real article.
I’m not like other girls: I wear messy buns. I don’t do my makeup and I don’t like the color pink. I wear leggings and a sweatshirt every day. I listen to country music because I hate pop music. I don’t wear tight clothes and I don’t straighten my hair every day. Aren’t I so quirky?
Well, here’s the thing: I’m not like other girls either. I listen to classic rock and wear combat boots. I dye my hair fun colors. I wear all black. I wear lots of black eyeliner. I like flannel shirts, my vans and I ride a motorcycle. Aren’t I hardcore?
Hey, I’m not like other girls! I write poetry about my feelings. I have glasses. I like wearing cardigans. I hate being forced to read, but I love reading of my own accord. I only wear a little bit of foundation and mascara, maybe blush sometimes. I love playing Minecraft and my Nintendo 3DS. Aren’t I goofy?
Guess what? All of those things (well most of them), describe one girl.
It’s me! I’m the girl!
