Fredonia students Jennifer Morello and Olivia Connor present a new cooking show on WNYF-TV, the campus television station.
The show, titled “Jen’s Kitchen,” will explore the food from various New York State regions.
Connor, a senior biology and art major and Morello, a junior video production major, were inspired to create this show by working with a mutual friend, Sydney Pelino, on another WNYF show, called “Knitty Gritty.”

The two enjoyed filming “Knitty Gritty” so much that they decided to film one of their own.
Connor and Morello ultimately decided on a cooking show, something they could be passionate about and have fun with.
“I think what sets us apart from other cooking shows is that we try not to take ourselves too seriously, and it’s a comedy cooking show,” said Morello.
The show, which is primarily vlog-style, will try to tackle the most notable dishes from New York regions, including New York City, Rochester, Buffalo and even Fredonia.
Viewers can look forward to seeing how Connor and Morello mix cinematography with the more casual style that vlogging offers to really give the cooking show genre their own flair.
“Jen’s Kitchen” will also break the typical cooking show norm by taking the show outside of the kitchen.
The Fredonia-inspired episode will feature camping foods and they will have a “remote shoot at the local Erie campgrounds,” according to Connor.
The first episode of “Jen’s Kitchen” aired on Feb. 14 and featured recipes for black and white cookies and New York City-style pizza.
Viewers can watch the second episode, which will be Rochester-themed, in mid-March.
Fredonia students can look forward to learning how to make famous, regional New York dishes and may have the chance to see episodes featuring their favorite foods.
