A review of the TV series “Bridgerton”

“Dearest reader… the time has come to talk about the show that has taken Netflix by storm.”

“Bridgerton” is the show that takes place in the 19th century but brings a modern twist.

The series is based on the book series written by Julia Quinn, which had the first of eight books come out in 2000.

The story follows the family of Bridgertons as they make their way through the current social season.

Amidst the glitz and glamour of the balls for Daphne Bridgerton, there is one common foe in the midst of the town.

With the threat of Lady Whistledown’s gossip columns, Daphne and the Duke team up in order to change the lies she has spread about them.

Through the twists and turns of the season, love fills the air and Daphne had finally found her suitor.

Similar to Kristen Bell as the voice of “Gossip Girl,” Julie Andrews voices the dreaded Lady Whistledown.

From the first episode, you get captured by the entire world along with following the mystery of who the town gossipist is.

“Bridgerton” made its Netflix debut on Dec. 5, 2020 in the “Top 10 in the U.S. Today” list. At the time of posting, it can still be seen in the Top 10.

Over the first 28 days of its release on the platform, the show had been streamed in over 82 million households and holds the title for the most-watched original series to date.

After the series made its debut, the show also made a name for itself on social media.

With the ever popular “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical,” two TikTok creators decided to make this drama into a modern musical.

“Bridgerton: The Musical” took TikTok by storm and gained a strong following from all fans of the show.

The most intriguing parts of watching this show is how they were able to make a show that takes place in the 1800s have the feel of the present.

If you pay attention to the songs during the balls, you will be able to hear many familiar tunes that are popular on the radio. “Thank U, Next” by Ariana Grande, “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes and “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift are just a few of the songs you can hear a ballroom full of dukes, duchesses, princes and princesses waltz around to.

This show is a great escape from reality to take a trip back in time, when finding out who the next woman to be married off was the biggest buzz all around town.

You automatically get swooped into the story and become very eager where the story is going to lead next. It is usually not what you would think.

“Bridgerton” is the latest drama to be brought into the homes of millions from Netflix, and I don’t think the popularity will be dying down anytime soon.
