When it comes to academics, SUNY Fredonia’s campus is more than just a pretty sight.
Numerous study spaces are scattered around the college’s 266-acre campus.
When students feel they need a break from studying in their dorm rooms, they can look to these spaces for a nice change of scenery.
5. Science Center Lounge

Tucked between Jewett Hall and the University Commons is Fredonia’s own Science Center, complete with a large seating area on the first floor and study spaces located throughout the whole building.
You don’t have to be a STEM major to enjoy the plethora of study spaces in the Science Center: it’s open to students regardless of their major or minor.
As soon as you enter the main entrance of the building, there are tons of chairs and tables set up for students to use to wait for class or get some work done.
Conveniently, the Tea Rex Cafe is located right next to the seating area, allowing students to easily grab a mid-study session snack or bubble tea.
A decision on whether or not the Tea Rex Cafe will be open next semester will be made closer to the start of the semester.
It’s a quiet, yet public area where students can get a quick study session in or hammer out a last minute assignment if needed.
4. Patio

Another great study spot on campus is the patio, located just outside Tim Hortons in the William’s Center.
Complete with tables, chairs and even a large futon, the patio makes for a great group study session.
Students hoping to work on a group project or simply just looking to study with friends can find large seating areas to accommodate the whole group.
The patio is also fit for a late-night study session, where string lights line a metal bar at the front of the patio.
Plus, Tim Hortons is located right inside, so students can feel free to grab a snack to re-energize when needed.
3. Outdoor Picnic Tables

It’s a bright summer day: the sun is shining and the birds are chirping.
But, alas, you have a big assignment due tonight!
How can you enjoy the wonderful weather and finish that assignment on time?
Take a seat at the picnic tables outside of University Commons!
Just outside of University Commons are several picnic tables where students can choose to study by themselves or with friends.
The tables are located both in the sun and the shade, making them perfect for enjoying any warm day.
You may even get a few squirrel visitors while studying, providing you with a cute break from your homework!
2. Three Man Hill

Yet another perfect study space is Three Man Hill, the grass-covered incline located between Rockefeller Arts Center and the Campus Woodlot.
This popular picnic destination gets its name from the metal sculptures of three men located at the top.
Many students use Three Man Hill to have picnics, hang with friends and my personal favorite: to watch the sunset!
There’s nothing better than finishing up a Zoom meeting while you watch the sunset over your laptop screen on Three Man Hill.
There’s an amazing view overlooking the stadium and townhouses, making group study sessions all the more enjoyable.
1. Starbucks, University Commons

While all the study spots on this list are fantastic, my all-time favorite place to study on-campus is the Starbucks inside of University Commons.
Central to practically all buildings on campus, Starbucks is a popular study space, so if you want a spot, get there early.
After ordering the drink and food of their choice, students can make their way to the cafe seating at the back of the store.
The campus Starbucks has a studious atmosphere, with upbeat instrumental music and the smell of coffee throughout.
While this isn’t always the quietest option, students looking for white noise or a coffee shop setting can find exactly what they’re looking for at SUNY Fredonia’s Starbucks.
