Spring into action to survive post-break blues

Well, here we are. Somehow, it is already the second week of classes and although syllabus week was nice, it probably already has, or will soon, sink in that this semester is going to start demanding actual effort from you (I know this is very tragic).

Do not fret bruthas and sistas because this scallywag knows de wey. First order of business when it comes to surviving this new semester is to go ahead and inject your ego with a healthy dose of overconfidence in your ability to sustain motivation across the entirety of the semester. We all know that confidence will run dry quicker than Patrick Stump can sing about it.

Now that you have an overinflated sense of self, it is time to set up an environment that is conducive to the most productive individuals on this planet. Make sure to make a list of all of the shows and movies you wanted to watch over break and put it right next to your laptop so you always have a to-do list of some sort. This will ensure that you are at least always doing something.

Another great way to make sure you stay on task is to wait until the very last minute to begin a task. This way you won’t have any other option but to sit there and do it all in one go.

Something that is always a good idea is to stock up on supplies that you know you will need later on in the semester. Now is a good time to buy caffeine in bulk, because let’s face it: sleep is a thing of the past now! All-nighters, here we come.

These next few months will be some trying times, but if all else fails, don’t forget that summer is just around the corner.
